Poetry Tag Tuesday

I have made a replica of a piece that I did for the poetry in stitches challenge that I did back in 2008 if my memory serves me correctly.
The backing fabric is made from some felted knitting that I made, then I have embroidered on the Dandelion flower & seed head. The leaves are both paper & stumpwork embroidered. This tag will become the book mark for the poetry in stitches book.
The poem that I choose was called "Dandelion-Nature's Sundial"

Happy Valentine's Day

Here is my Valentine's Day tag, for Tag Tuesday. This like the hearts tag is a mixed media tag. The base for this tag is made from some hand made felt I made at Christmas for some ornaments that I was making. I have then added a lace heart & secured it using some embroidered ribbon roses & cross stitching in the centre. I have two cut outs from some vintage pictures that I have & added some tiny pearl hearts & gold sequin hearts. I have also used a heart brad at the top for the swing tie.

This tag could also be used for the heart theme as well☺☺

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone

Hearts for Tag Tuesday

Here is my Hearts for tag tuesday 7th of February. A little late I know!
I have used a mixture of mediums, from card to velvet. I've also added found objects as well. Like the heart shaped stone on the bottom tag. That I found on the beach one day, & the silver dangley hanging from the velvet heart. Which my husband found at work one day. I have used my most favourite punch the owl punch from Stampin! Up & the spotty paper in the background is also from Stampin! Up. I had fun making this tag, & found it hard to know when to stop☺

Next Tuesdays tag which is tomorrow, will be Valentine's Day, so watch this space☺

TAST 24th January Cretan Stitch

Another late one. But here it is. The Cretan Stitch. I have not done a great deal with this stitch, but I can see the potential to do a lot with it. Trees, Bee hives & leaves, just to name a few. I will play with this stitch a little further, when time allows. So keep an eye out for any new additions with this stitch.

TAST 17th January Feather Stitch

It is a little over due. But here it is. My TAST's Feather Stitch. I have used a combination of different threads, in both colour & thicknesses. Feather Stitch like the button hole stitch is one of my favourites as well. I have added different flower beads to lith piece to give it a little more depth.

The back ground fabric is called Faded Rose felt, from Colour Streams. I have used 21st Century silk threads & the fluffy threads are by Spiral Dryed ( Rivendell is the colour)

I will be along soon with the next installment of the TAST's. The next being Cretan Stitch. See you then.

Lace Tag Tuesday

Sorry I'm late in putting this up. I did say I was going to put it up the other day. I have been so busy this past week, I do not know where the time has gone.

Anyway, here is my version of the Lace Tag Tuesday theme. The backing fabric is some silk given to me by my dear friend Isabell, then I have added some lace given to me by another friend Kerry. I have then added one of the lace motifs that I pain stakingly had sewn onto my wedding dress some 24 years ago. The beaded trim was also given to me by a friend but sadly I cannot remember which friend. Sorry. I then finished off with a shop bought dragonfly motif & made the tie from a tiny bead charm that was also given by another friend, Dianne. So all in all most of this tag has been made by the generosity of my friends. Thank You to all of them XX
